New memories, finally
Brown sugar sea salt
The new bittersweet
Served at the coffee shop
Right across my street
To say it was pure coincidence
Would be a bit of a lie
It was more wishful and keen sense
Nonetheless, I walked by
Had it been a decade ago
To share an order under the same air
I would’ve been delighted to know
But even a year ago, I simply wouldn’t care
Though I shouldn’t, now I want to
Because that’s all I have left
And if being invalid is what it takes
I’ll make myself care to halt memory theft
