Provenance
Provenance is a cookbook by plant-based chef Peggy Chan that seeks to set a new standard for kitchen practices and inspire action towards a delicious, sustainable and equitable food system. In direct collaboration with Peggy, I worked on editorial design, manuscript editing and colour proofing. Graphic design and layout was developed in collaboration with Meiji Ip.
Provenance was funded on Kickstarter as part of a campaign for Zero Foodprint Asia (ZFPA), a non-profit organisation mobilising the food industry around agricultural climate solutions. While hardcopies are sold out, the e-book is still available for purchase here.

Through over 80 plant-based recipes, Provenance highlights the connection between food, health and climate change, introducing the reader to carbon emission comparisons for recipes, zero-waste principles, food security, local seasonalities, unique biodiverse ingredients, and many more. The recipes are contextualised with personal narratives from Peggy’s time at UNSDG recognised Grassroots Pantry and Nectar, two of her award-winning restaurants, demonstrating how climate-oriented practices can be scalable and successful in the food industry.
