Egg Drop Project

A project from the Parsons NY Summer Intensive Studies: Product and Things (2015) course I took. The task was to create packaging for a single egg to protect it from a 10ft fall using Bristol board only.

(Materials: Bristol board; Hand-cut and crafted)

After exploring the structural integrity of eggs, methods of protection and some biomimicry inspiration, I decided to adopt the chamber structure of a pomegranate in my design. My approach was to protect the egg using paper springs that would provide cushioning and create elevated distance from direct impact.
