In Medicine, the Morally Unthinkable Too Easily Comes to Seem Normal

Personal illustration based on a New York Times Opinion piece about how the culture of medicine fosters unethical behaviours such as unconsented pelvic exams. Crime tape is used to block off danger zones. Building on this idea, I drew a gloved-hands forcefully breaking the seal on crime-taped medical forceps to symbolize unauthorized entry into dangerous (moral) territory; in this case, the cervix of an non-consenting patient.
